Here is a list of common work at home terms and their definitions. Affiliate - A person who markets a merchant's service or product and is paid a commission on a sale. RSS - Rich Site Summary or Really Simple Syndication is a format for delivering regularly changing web content. It is often seen on blogs, news-related websites and forums. Search Engine Optimization/SEO - The process of making a site and its content rank highly in search engines using keywords or keyword phrases relevant to a site's content. Telecommute - To work at home or another remote location that is not your employer's place of business using a computer, Internet, phone or fax. Upline - In multi-level marketing (MLM) the person who referred you also known as your sponsor. Virtual Assistant/VA - Provides administrative, clerical, technical or managerial services for clients from their own home. Web 2.0 - A "second generation" trend in World Wide Web which includes blogging, social networking, wikis, social bookmarking, podcasts, RSS feeds etc. |
